What we do

History

Global Vessels began in 1998. It began with a call from individuals in Ghana West Africa to come over and help them build a church; as well as a desire on the part of individuals in the U.S. desiring to do something to serve humanity in the construction business. That year over 34 people, with various backgrounds traveled to Ghana not knowing what to expect. In seven days the members were able to worship in the church.

Since then there have been ten successful mission trips. Through the efforts of volunteers, as well as fundraising endeavors, Vessels has successfully completed three churches, one library, and one girl's dormitory in Ghana. While in Ghana they were able to place computers and books in the newly constructed library. In 2004, the request came to go to Tanzania and build an extension to an existing clinic. This extension was built to serve as a maternity, HIV AIDS, and dental facility.

Present Project--Havilah Children's Orphanage Village

Building an orphanage became the dream of Vessels. While building the clinic extension in the beautiful country of Tanzania, East Africa, in 2004, it became apparent that there was a need for more housing for vulnerable children--children who have suffered the loss of parents due to AIDS or abandonment. So, Vessels began to put together a plan to build an orphanage village--a place with a home environment. In July of '2005 a new volunteer group  began to build the first of 10 houses. This village will have 10 individual homes with a mother in each and aunties living in the village. When this is completed an industry will be started so that the orphanage can become self sufficient. The dream is that not only will children be helped but so will the community--through jobs and life enrichment seminars.
